At last a sized mouse that fits like a glove! The HandShoe Mouse is developed in close cooperation with two medical universities. The concept of the patented HandShoe Mouse is to prevent excessive gripping and pinching as well as the stretching of the fingers. The special shape allows for the hand to continuously rest on the mouse body in a relaxed fashion and thereby reducing the risk of RSI (repetitive strain injury). Available in three sizes for the right hand.

Now available in a BlueRay Track version which works on almost every surface without a mouse mat!

Features:

  • Provides full support of the hand and wrist.
  • No friction between the skin of your hand and the desktop

General position of the hand, make sure that:
1. the size of your HandShoeMouse is correct
2. the hand lies in a relaxed fashion on the mouse
3. finger tips should be close to the desk top to enable easy switching
4. your lower arm is supported

How to experience the relaxation of the HandShoeMouse

1. the HandShoeMouse is like a saddle for the hand
2. the whole hand is relaxed, so any movement is noticed
3. to switch, only a minor action of the relaxed finger is required
4. the finger tips should press the switches close to the desktop
5. to click at a higher point on a switch will require more force
6. you should NOT press the switches with lifted and bent fingers

Comparison between regular mouse and HandShoeMouse

You should be aware that the muscles, especially of the hand and fingers, are used to a strained position as a result of working with a regular mouse or even a so called ergonomic mouse.

The muscles have to “learn” to relax, this may take some time.
At first you may even experience some muscle ache.

This will pass and then you will work in a most relaxed and comfortable way.

All in all, the total momentum (force x cantilever) exerted with a regular mouse whereby the finger is fully stretched out horizontally is far larger than with the HandShoeMouse.
In other words, it takes much more muscle effort to operate the switches with a regular mouse than with the HandShoeMouse.

Cursor control

To control the HandShoeMouse, you can move both arm and hand from the wrist.
For easy cursor control using the HandShoeMouse
the cursor speed should be set at around medium.
Most people have set the cursor speed far too high.High cursor speeds instigate unnecessary muscle tensions. If the cursor setting is according to our advice (medium speed), the distance to move the cursor diagonally over a 20 inch screen, is not even 2 inches.

The weights chamber of the HandShoeMouse

The HandShoeMouse has been weight compensated to allow optimal relaxation for your muscles, which are active when you move the mouse over the desk top. The optimal weight has been scientifically established.

To allow you to adapt the weight of the HandShoeMouse, compensation weights can be removed. On the bottom of the mouse you will find the cover of the weight chamber. This cover can be removed and a number of platelets can be taken out.

Please pay attention that the mouse has been provided with the optimal weight. However, if preferred, you can reduce the weight if you thinks this more comfortable.

No need to lift the HandShoeMouse

To move the mouse without moving the cursor on the screen, just press slightly on the side of the mouse (little finger side). The mouse will tilt a little and thus the optics will come free from the desktop. Now you can slide the mouse over the desktop without moving the cursor on the screen. Weight is no problem because you does not have to lift the mouse.

Wireless HandShoeMouse

The wireless HandShoeMouse goes to sleep in 3 separate steps to save battery power.
- First, the mouse is on stand-by
- Second, the mouse goes to battery saving position
- Third, the mouse goes to sleep, the LED light on the bottom is off

To activate the mouse that has gone to sleep, just press one of the operating switches and you will notice the cursor will move on the screen when you move the mouse.

With a standard mouse you may be used to first move the mouse and then click a button.
With the HandShoeMouse you have to first click an operating button.
The reason is that the HandShoeMouse has no on and off switches so you do not run the risk to forget to switch off the power when you do not use it in order to save battery power.
The HandShoeMouse saves battery power automatically.

To charge the battery:

For charging of the battery a USB cable is used.
You can continue working when charging the battery if the dongle is in place.
This is a great advantage of the wireless version of the HandShoeMouse.
With normal use the battery will last around 4 weeks.

Note: no risk of a frozen screen, one can always work.

Loss of connection between micro receiver (dongle) and mouse:If the cursor does not move, re-establish connection with micro receiver.

Step 1
Press the small black button on the bottom of the mouse once.
The light on the dongle (antenna in the USB port of the PC / laptop) must come on.

Step 2
Press the small black button again
The light on the dongle will go out

Step 3
Press one of the switches on the mouse to activate the mouse.
You can now move the cursor on the screen.
