Throughout the world, there are office workers who live with office fatigue as part of their job. This type of condition comes from both physical and mental stress in their environment. To help reduce the symptoms and help workers become more productive, there are solutions.

Let’s take a look at 3 of the most common symptoms of office fatigue and see how we can reduce or even eliminate them:

  1. Eyestrain – Believe it or not, one of the reasons many office workers require glasses is eyestrain. Focusing on a computer screen for so many hours a day can put an enormous strain on your eyes and cause office fatigue. To reduce this type of office fatigue, try changing the position of your monitor, add an anti-glare filter or look at a monitor arm.
  2. Carpal tunnel – Here’s one of the most common stress injuries for office workers. Usually caused by improper typing and mousing techniques and office equipment that’s not optimal, there are ways to treat this and other stress related conditions. To reduce the strain on your wrists, fingers and hands, try out things like: split keyboards, ergonomic mice and foot switches for mousing movements.
  3. Stiff body – Let’s face it, office workers suffer from office fatigue by sitting in a chair while using a computer for 8 or more hours a day. Not only does this put a strain on your eyes, wrists, hands and joints, it also causes stiffness or pain in your back and other areas of your body. Try to reduce some of this by taking breaks, sit in an ergonomic chair or invest in an adjustable table or desk.

With office work, comes office fatigue. It’s a common occurrence and almost everyone faces it at one time or another. To combat this, consider the solutions above to reduce that fatigue and increase your productivity.
